Georgian early 19th century well figured
mahogany longcase or tall case clock with an
eight-day bell strike movement, a painted
break-arch dial with floral spandrels, rolling moon
phase, seconds dial and calendar aperture.  Signed
by Armstrong of Manchester.   English, circa 1810.
  This is a very good example of a clock with
add-on features to suit a patron of England's
wealthiest region in the late 18th century.

tall case clock in highly figured flame veneers with
an 8-day bell-strike movement, seconds and
calendar dials and corner spandrels depicting the
four seasons, featuring a rare break arch with
Masonic symbols, signed by Charles Campbell of
Bo'ness, circa 1770.   84"H x 19 ½"W x 9 ½"D.   
(The Bo'ness Masonic lodge was founded in 1759
and declared dormant in 1799 for lack of members.)

trunk, with double ogee-topped long door flanked by
quarter-columns, housing a 30-hour movement with

overall.   Signed by Newby of Kendal.  English, circa

19th century French Morbier wall clock with white
enamel dial and repousse brass surround, an early-
style rear-hanging, folding pendulum, and a
bell
-strike movement sounding on the hour with
repeat three minutes after and on the half-hour,,
signed by Boisson of Castelnaudonirca 1800.  (The
rear-hanging pendulum indicates that this clock did
not have a case, else the pendulum would have been
at the front, visible in the door's lenticle.)

George IV period oak and mahogany longcase or
tall case clock with swan neck pediment supported
by fluted pilasters, above a trunk chamfered and
beautifully inlaid with ebony and satinwood, the
box base inlaid and cross-banded; housing an
eight-day bell-strike movement, the dial painted
with a depiction of Britannia and ocean-going
vessels in the arch, the center showing a country
house, and charming spandrel vignettes
representing the four major continents, signed by
Booth of Leeds.   English, circa 1828.   (Arabic
numerals were popular for a short period in the

Classic 18th century London longcase or tall case
clock in figured mahogany case with pagoda top,
housing an eight-day quarter-strike movement
with break arch brass and silver dial, seconds dial
and calendar aperture, and strike/silentlever in the
arch, striking on the hour and with two bells on the
quarter hours, signed by Paul Rimbault, London,
with the date 1773.   The Rimbault family were
London clockmakers throughout the 18th century,
Paul Rimbault being active 1767-85.   (In 2004, an
exceptional Paul Rimbault musical movement in a
carved Philadelphia case sold for a record $800,000

18th century French provincial walnut tall case clock,
with deeply molded, domed pediment above a long
paneled door with lenticle, flaring to a paneled base,
the whole with paneled sides and stop-fluting to the
front corners; housing an eight-day movement with
crown wheel escapement, striking on the hour and
repeating five minutes after, with single strike on the
half-hour, the circular white enamel dial with roman
numerals, surmounted by a crest of scrolling leaves
and French coat of arms, signed by Gabis of Verdun.

aperture, signed Bruton, Cromhall.

the swan neck pediment, above molded long door
flanked by fluted quarter-columns, a paneled outset
base and ogee bracket feet; housing an 8-day
bell-strike movement, the arched brass dial with
silvered chapter ring and engraved center, signed in
the arch by Barwise of Cockermouth, c. 1770.  (Lot
Barwise, 1726-1799, was father of the prominent John
